The tube

A genuine IV-18 vacuum fluorescent display from the Soviet era — new old stock, never used. Six digits inside one long glass envelope, in a jade green no LED panel reproduces. Rated for more than 10,000 hours.

The case

The electronics are identical in both; the difference is how much metal you see, so pick on looks alone.

  • Stripes — clear acrylic panels on metal standoffs. The board stays visible: wiring, components, the filament of the tube. Nothing hidden.
  • Clear — the same electronics with more metal in the case. Heavier and darker, closer to a machine-shop look.

What it does

  • Hours, minutes and seconds, in 12 or 24 hour format
  • Calendar and alarm
  • 20 digit transition effects — digits roll, fade and scroll between changes
  • Automatic brightness: readable in daylight, gentle at night
  • Battery backup holds the time through a power cut

Size and power

15 × 4 × 9 cm (5.9 × 1.57 × 3.54 in). Universal 100–240 V adapter included, so it runs anywhere. Fully assembled and tested — no kit, no soldering.
